Dubuque Rolling Arrest Log Scope
Everything here flows from the official P2C Recent Arrests page. It is a rolling carousel shared across the Dubuque public-safety system. Nothing on it labels the feed a weekly or seventy-two-hour archive. On one visit it displayed 188 cards. That number is a single observation. It is not a promise. The newest 188 arrests in Dubuque County are not always on screen.
The cards themselves carry no booking dates. That gap matters. It makes it impossible to sort entries into a precise week from the carousel alone. The page also publishes no refresh interval, archive depth, or roll-off rule. So the "Weekly Arrest Log" label is really just site navigation. The accurate name for the underlying source is a rolling recent-arrests feed.
The P2C carousel capture records the visible depth and disclaimer.

The image preserves the source context without turning individual booking photos into a gallery.
Read Dubuque Arrest Log Entries
Treat each card as a snapshot from P2C, not a full case file. The shared system pulls in records from city police and the county sheriff. Other participating public-safety functions feed it too. Watch for an agency label on the card. It matters. That person was not necessarily arrested by Dubuque Police. They were not necessarily held at the Dubuque County Jail.
- Open Recent Arrests and note the date and time checked.
- Read the full displayed name and physical descriptors without merging close matches.
- Record the offense or citation exactly as the source presents it.
- Mark whether a source image is shown, unavailable, or not checked.
- Use the date-specific bulletin when the exact reporting date matters.
- Check the roster, jail, or court for current status and later disposition.
A rolling card can linger after a release or vanish while the official record still exists elsewhere. The Daily Arrest Report answers a different question, filtering the P2C bulletin to one chosen date.
Dubuque Arrest Card Fields
The Recent Arrests card leans heavy on personal descriptors. Timing and case status stay thin. Those differences shape how the Dubuque arrest log should be used. The field inventory below lists exactly what each card shows. Missing facts are named outright.
| Field | Status in the observed card |
|---|---|
| Name | Displayed. |
| Photo | Displayed for some entries, not guaranteed for all. |
| Race, sex, age | Displayed physical descriptors. |
| Height and weight | Displayed when supplied by the card. |
| Offense or citation | Displayed as an charge, not a disposition. |
| Booking date and time | Not visible on the reviewed card. |
| Bond and release | Not visibly established. |
| Court outcome | Not part of the card. |
Never calculate custody from a card's age or placement. Photographs are source-controlled too. Absence of a photo does not disprove an arrest. For an exact booking packet, request the existing record from its custodian.
Why 188 Is Not Retention
That 188-card figure deserves its own caution. P2C displayed that many entries on the day checked. Yet it never said the count marks a fixed period, a capacity limit, or the latest 188 bookings. The number can shift as the system publishes, restricts, or removes records.
This matters most for older searches. A missing card does not mean the agency destroyed its arrest report. The public module may simply have rolled forward. A restriction may apply, or the search view changed. Likewise, an old third-party copy proves nothing about the current official record or charge.
Weekend Dubuque Arrest Posting
Dubuque County publishes no weekday, weekend, or holiday posting schedule for arrests. P2C's own description says its data is not real time. It appears after a call wraps up or when restrictions allow. It never promises a Saturday arrest lands by Sunday. It also never says overnight bookings post each morning, or that a holiday queue clears at a set hour.
A cluster of cards after a weekend could reflect event volume. It could also come from report completion, delayed approval, or plain system timing. The interface offers no way to separate those causes. So resist calling a burst a weekend surge. Do that only if an official dated source backs the claim. Check chosen Daily Bulletin dates one by one and note the time of each check.
Note: Dubuque County publishes no weekend refresh rule, so a late card should not be assigned an unsupported posting time.
Find Older Dubuque Arrest Records
The Daily Bulletin allows selected-date searching. Its public page does not promise permanent online access. A record can slip past the visible web window. Then submit a targeted request through the Dubuque County public-records page. Name the agency, person, and record type. Add the approximate date range and any known case or booking number. Ask for an existing record, not a new research report.
County policy accepts requests in person, in writing, by telephone, or electronically. It allows confidentiality review, actual-cost fees, estimates, and possible prepayment, with no fixed turnaround. The public P2C interface lists no retention schedule either. Iowa Chapter 22 itself sets no single retention period for all arrest material.
The State Historical Society records schedule page explains the archive path and transfer limits.

Start with the local custodian that created the booking record. Iowa offers no searchable state archive of modern P2C booking images.
Dubuque Arrest News Is Selective
Dubuque newsrooms pick their arrest stories by newsworthiness. A booking log they are not. Radio Dubuque keeps a dated archive of local crime items. The Telegraph Herald covers court matters. It also joins the Tri-States Most Wanted channel. KCRG reports on selected Dubuque investigations and policy. Real Dubuque News posts arrest and crime briefs of its own.
Each outlet draws on agency releases or its own reporting. So the details differ from story to story. Treat them as context. Check P2C first for who was arrested in Dubuque County. The Real Dubuque News page shows its arrest and crime sections. None of these sites replaces the official record. Match any charge against the court case before you rely on it.

News accounts explain an event. They cannot prove the P2C feed lists every arrest.
Third-Party Dubuque Arrest Indexes
Private indexes can fill gaps in the P2C card. RecentlyBooked, Arrests.org, BustedNewspaper, Mugshots.zone, and ScanDBQ all cover Dubuque County arrests. They differ in depth, update claims, and photo handling. None is a government source. None outranks P2C, the jail, or the court. A stale page, a duplicate, or a wrong-person match is always possible, so treat these entries as leads only. Confirm the arrest through P2C. Confirm the case outcome with Iowa Courts Online. A city label on a private entry proves nothing about the arresting agency or current custody, and its photos should not be reused.
A booking card shows one moment in the case. Charges and outcomes live in the court record. Use Iowa Courts Online to follow the case after the booking. And never treat a close name match as proof you found the right person.
